Gumstix Pi Compute FastFlash is a compact expansion board to flash your Raspberry Pi Compute Module’s embedded memory quickly. It is a cost-effective device that allows you to initialize or overwrite the Pi Compute Module embedded storage with a new disk image or mount the file system to your PC.

The FastFlash expansion board, designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module (not included), is a cost-effective device that allows you to initialize or overwrite the Pi Compute Module embedded storage with a new disk image, or mount the file system to your PC.

Raspberry Pi Compute Module is not included. They are available from element14.

This board is designed by Gumstix in Geppetto.

Why Use A Fast Flash?

  1. Use it to flash multiple Compute Modules in place of the $140 Compute Module Dev Kit from Raspberry Pi.
  2. Pre-load your Compute Modules for your Geppetto Pi boards. Custom boards do not have USB flash capability.

Features:

  • Power and data provided by a single USB cable. No power adapters or second USB cables as with the CMIO Dev Kit.
  • Our flash procedure essentially the same as Raspberry Pi's instructions. Our quick-start guide can be found here.

Note: Expansion boards designed in Geppetto require a specialized disk image provided by Gumstix.
