More information on supported software platforms for Gumstix products »

  1. Begin by connecting the Overo COM to the RoboVero expansion board. An overview of the COM's hardware can be found at the Gumstix Developer Center. Connect the u.fl antenna for WiFi capability.

  2. Connect the RoboVero's console port to a USB port on your computer using the supplied USB Mini-B to Standard A cable.

  3. Visit www.robovero.org's Instructions Section to connect via a terminal emulator.

  4. Download the client Python library onto the Overo COM. Please note: Ubuntu uses the apt package manager (apt-get) instead of opkg.

  5. Configure your WiFi connection.

  6. The HubCommander interface automatically transfers control of the RoboVero from the onboard Overo COM to your host machine. To begin using your Robotics Kit, disconnect the RoboVero from your host machine and SSH to the Overo: > ssh gumstix@overo.local > Password: gumstix

  7. You can now begin programming your robot
